Week 10 double digits!🎉

Monday morning calls are the BEST!

He had some more time to call a little later, I loved it!

His companion flagged down a ride for them to go to their district meeting. This was the awesome windshield!

He filmed along the ride.

He found butter, yogurt, and milk! They’re not refrigerated which seems weird to me but hey I’ll take it!

District meeting he loves seeing his MTC companion Elder Christensen ❤️.

Walking to buy some internet and things.

He got mud flipped all over him riding his bike.

I thought the ones on the right were mashed potatoes but they are mashed bananas!

Cute doggy

I sent him a crossword puzzle in French in my email and he finished it! I figured it was a fun way to practice some French.

Cockroach 🤢 but on a positive note it’s dead!

Beautiful sky!

Cocoa!

Such a cool sign they found!

The branch president’s daughter took Caleb’s phone and filmed but you can hear the French they speak it’s so fast!

Caleb and his companion Elder Kahn.

It poured rain while teaching at one house.

His bike got a little bike wash!

Check out the tube tv!

They had nine baptisms Sunday. Caleb did four of them! He also helped with the confirmations. He said the hardest part was pronouncing their full names!

Traveling back to their house.

Cute doggy he snapped a picture of but it’s at night so it’s blurry.

His email from this week:

Salut!

Today was a pretty good week. Last P-Day we didn't go out to our sector because my companion's side was hurting him. It was nice getting some extra study time though.

Tuesday we went up to N'Zianouan for a district meeting. It was nice being able to speak English with the other Americans. We had our district meeting, and then went back to N'Douci. It was a quick trip but it was fun.

The rest of the week we did a lot of teaching and filling out baptismal forums. It has also been raining a lot this week. My favorite is when the natives say, “il neige!” Yeah that means it is snowing. It's funny trying to explain to them that it has to be 0 degrees Celsius for that to happen. Then they'll be like but it's white. Yeah that's because the light from the sky is reflecting off of the water droplets. My dad sent me pictures of actual snow so I'll just show them that. Anyways it's really funny.

Sunday was a really cool day. We went to church in the morning like normal. After church we went with about 13 other people from our group up to Tiassalé for baptisms. Tiassalé is our branch and also the closest church. We went to the station here to get taxi's and then all went up together.

When we got to the church the Elders from Tiassalé were there to help with the building, and both sets of Elders from Sikensi were there as well. There were a total of 8 people getting baptized. 7 of them were from our sector. My companion said I was going to baptize them all, but they had me do half and another guy do half. It was nice because their African names are really hard to pronounce. The baptisms went well though. I have done a lot of baptizing in the temple, but it was cool performing someone's first covenant with God.

After I helped do some of the confirmations as well. Once we finished we headed back to N’Douci. It was raining really hard so we stayed in our apartment for a bit. Once the rain stopped we went out to get our bikes that we left at a members house after church. My companion also said bye to a couple people.

It is transfers tomorrow and my companion is getting transferred. I got told my new companion is another Ivorian which will be sweet, but I'll know for sure when we actually exchange. I also got told that there are only two Ivorian missionaries in my mission, which would mean I got trained from all of the Ivorian missionaries in my mission.

Spiritual Thought:

This week I read Helaman 13-16 which is the story of Samuel the Lamanite. One thing that stood out to me was how often he tells them to repent in the three chapters. I especially like chapter 14 verse 13. It says:

And if ye believe on his name ye will repent of all your sins, that thereby ye may have a remission of them through his merits.

He talks a lot about repentance, but he also shares how we are able to repent because of Christ and all that He has done for us. We are not perfect but because of Jesus Christ we are able to repent and become like him someday.

À bientôt!

Elder Robinson
