Week 22 🎉Happy New Year 2025!
I missed this picture in my last post so I’m throwing it in here because it’s cool! He likes to stand on a ledge and look out from up here so we snapped a picture with him! This was from Christmas Day.
Companionship study outside. They are watching a video propped up on a phone!
Leaving the apartment headed to Abidjan.
Traveling to Abidjan for a New Year’s Day mission activity.
Elder Doho from Côte d’Ivoire on the left then Elder Kalem from Congo and Elder Mondongue from Tahiti.
This was a miracle Caleb prayed for a bus to come and one showed up and it was empty and a good price. He said it was a nice bus too.
This is the apartment he stayed at while in Abidjan.
He said he never saw the ocean, but he was super close.
This was at the stake center I believe.
They had a ton of games for the missionaries to play. Caleb just enjoyed talking to missionaries from the MTC and such. He got to speak English!
The Elder in the green playing the guitar is from our stake he is Elder Hurren. He serves as an office Elder right now.
Caleb’s on the back left row good luck finding him!
Oh man I love this kid so much! He called us on New Year’s Day because that was his p day. Well they had an activity in Abidjan so he called us when he was traveling back home. He only had so much time because the activity took his morning and into the afternoon and it is an hour and a half sometimes more ride home. It was so cool, seeing some of what he goes through. It felt like a tour of Côte d’Ivoire!
No lanes in the road!
He hung one air pod on his ear so he could hear what was going on.
Here’s some videos of him walking around if you wanna watch just beware of motion sickness!
Caleb made the potatoes, gravy and chicken I sent him❤️ oh this just makes me so happy! He had this on New Years Day when he got back.
A cool sitting area he saw.
He took a picture of the moon and planet and so did I. It is so fun to see where the moon and planets are in the sky for him compared to us.
My photo.
He walked a ton this day! I should have gotten him brown socks!
This week was a pretty chi. and short week Dude it's 2025…
of New Years, which means this email will be short. Last week it took forever to leave the stake center because the assistants and office elders grabbed several phones and did random audits, one of them being my companion. They go to town when they do audits so it took a long time, but eventually we headed out. Traveling back to N'Douci was chill because no one was working. Except for that was the problem, no one was working. It was a little difficult getting a bus, but we got one and it worked out.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were pretty slow days because a lot of people were still celebrating or traveling. We chose to find some more people which went well, but the hard part is finding the people who will actually progress.
Sunday we went to church. My companion and I taught the youth. After church we all took a few hour nap which was great. But when we got up Elder Doho was really sick, so we all left and went to the hospital in N'Douci. If this hospital was in the states, not a single soul would go near it because of how not-nice it is. But for a village in the middle of Africa, it wasn't too bad. Other than that, not much else happened this week. Next week will be interesting since this is most likely my last week in N'Douci because of transfers, but we'll see.
Spiritual Thought:
I came across this scripture during my study and I really liked it. It's 2 Nephi 4:34:
O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.
I love this scripture because the only one we can put our trust in is Jesus Christ. He will never fail us, never forget us, he knows us perfectly, and he is always there for us. As we turn to him and put our trust in Him we will be able to get through this life.
Thanks for your prayers and have a good week!
