Week 23 Last week in N'Douci
I begged for a picture and this is what I got! He cut his hair on the top last p day. But he can never take a picture of just himself, hi Elder Kalem!
This is Elder Kalem’s hat!
This is called chep.
Elder Mondongue and Caleb did exchanges together.
It was Elder Mondongue’s birthday so Caleb took out some personal money and splurged on dinner. He made pancakes for him in the morning as well❤️.
Happy birthday Elder Mondongue!
Cute cat!
Starting in July these will be Caleb’s new mission presidents. We heard they are wonderful!
Caleb heard on Saturday that he is getting transferred, for real this time! So he uploaded pictures that he took with many of the good people he is having to say goodbye to.
Seour Marie and Seour Sonia.
Elder Kalem, Frere Sebastian, Caleb, Frere Joel, Seour Marie and Seour Sonia.
He said he is going to miss Frere Sebastian the most. Such a great faithful member. He has only been a member for about a year. The girls I guess just kept taking pictures!
They had 56 people at church on Sunday it was a great day. They even started teaching their neighbors this week and they came to church on Sunday with them.
He got to watch the first half of the final of the Supercopa. Frere Sebastian insisted! It was a great first half, tons of action!
He got fed three times that night by three different members.
It was hard to say goodbye to his first area and all the good people in N'Douci. Luckily he had a practice run about a month ago! It definitely helped him be a little more prepared this time!
Caleb's email for this week:
On dit quoi
This week was the last week of the transfer and it was our most productive. Tuesday we had a couple good lessons. During one lesson these two ladies were complaining to us about how they give almost all of their money to their pastor so he can buy a car and a big house. They were like we don't have any money because of that. We were just like what scripture tells you that you pay for your pastor's lifestyle while you're left here suffering. On Sunday they still went to that church haha. I've found several people who are like that. They give money to their pastor, even though most of them think it's wrong, but won't change what they're doing. It's funny and sad.
From Tuesday night to Thursday morning the zone leaders hung out at our apartment. We had a lot of fun together. They are two Nigerians so they speak English, even though it's really hard for me to understand them. They did exchanges with the other Elders in our apartment.
Friday I had an exchange with the other Elders in our apartment. Elder Doho, who is the district leader, went on an exchange with my companion. I went with Elder Mondongue who is still in training. We went to his sector, which I had done three months in before that, so I knew it very well. We had the bikes which was nice. The weird part was we didn't really know who was the senior companion. Like the one in training isn't the senior companion, but it was his sector, he is a francophone, and he had the sim card. It went great though and we taught a lot of people. My French was also really good that day. It was also Elder Mondongue’s birthday so we splurged and got some really good food.
Saturday me and Elder Kalem worked really hard and had a lot of good appointments. After the sector we had a mangez-vous where we ate some futu banane and sauce graine which was really good. Once we got to the apartment we learned about the transfer news. I’m officially leaving N’Douci which is definitely sad, but I think it’s time for me to go somewhere new. Where? I don’t know, haha.
Sunday was my last full day in N'Douci because we leave today, Monday, for Abidjan. After church we spent some time saying goodbye to some people. In the evening we had three mangez-vous. We also went to Frère Sébastien's place and watched Real Madrid vs Barcelona. We only watched the first half, but there were 5 goals including a penalty, so it was awesome.
This week we also found out who are new mission president will be, who'll start in July. I don't know much about him other than his name is President Vore and I have a picture of him and his wife.
Spiritual Thought:
I read the talk Think Celestial from President Nelson this week and this part stood out to me:
“Mortality is a master class in learning to choose the things of greatest eternal import”
I love how simple and straightforward he put it. This life is the time for us to learn, grow, and make covenants. While we are here we need to think celestial and focus on what matters most.
Thanks for all your prayers and emails, have a great week!
Elder Robinson
