Week 40 *9 months🎉
I tried to capture the sweat that was dripping off his face, but this picture doesn’t do it justice!
His collection of ties so far!
PSG and Arsenal game. He heard all this cheering and wondered what it was and come to find out it was a whole bunch of people watching the game outside.
This adorable little girl is mama Boga’s grandkid. Caleb is so cute with her. The video made me cry, my momma heart was beaming.
He was on exchanges with this elder and they got ice cream!
Several of the missionaries are not going out in the morning like they should so Elder Beck the other zone leader heard of this done before and so they are doing it. When they get up and go out in the morning they have to get a beverage and film them saying “morning bevs” and send it to the zone so they can see they are out and working. These are some of Caleb’s!
He had another baptism on Saturday! Frere Marc. Caleb did the baptizing and confirmation.
More morning beverages!
Mother’s Day call❤️! He called while I was at church during relief society at 2:45. I went and sat in my car to talk to him. It was so fun! I LOVE LOVE LOVE being his momma! 🥰 Bryan came and said hi for a split second before he had to go teach.
Sneak peak at a soccer game!
Salut
This week was a pretty good week. Last week we went to the church and played soccer. The ball went over the fence and the guy wouldn't give it back. So we got an older Ivorian and brought him with us, and then the dude gave it back. After we went and got our money for the week. There were a lot of banks that didn't have money so it took a while, but it worked out. That night we had family home evening which started at 19h. But African time means that it actually started at 19h40. We didn't stay for long because we had to get back to the apartment.
Tuesday we had district council. We have a small problem with going to sector in our zone so we made a challenge that every time we go to sector we have to send a video saying “morning bevs” with a drink we bought. It's been a fun challenge, but it wasn't super successful because the sisters in our zone were at the temple all week.
Thursday I did an exchange with Elder Stucki. He is an awesome guy. That night we got very little sleep because we were talking and playing games. It was so worth it though. We went out to sector in the morning and it was chill… until the AP's called and said Elder Stucki is leaving the trio he was in and getting a new companion. So we changed plans and went to our apartment and then his apartment. He packed a bit and then Elder Stotts brought his companion. Me and Elder Beck adjusted who were doing exchanges, and so I went back to my sector with Elder Mativenga. He just showed up this transfer but is a cool guy. We had a lot of fun and had a couple good lessons.
Friday we did weekly planning. About an hour before leaving for our zone interviews, the assistants texted us and said that they were canceled and changed to another day. The Stotts also showed up to our apartment to do an inventory check. Our apartment is big and they are looking to get us new apartments, so they came to see what we had. They left us some chocolate chip cookies which were awesome.
Saturday we had a baptism at 9am. We had got the font ready the day before and waited for people to show up. At 9:30am our candidate showed up. At 10am we called the bishop to see where he was. He was at work and hadn’t told anyone. So for the next 30 minutes I was calling anybody to show up. Luckily one of the counselors was at the church building doing interviews, and was able to take a little bit of time to come to the stake center. We needed witnesses so I called some elders that were nearby to help. So for the baptism we had me and my companion, the candidate, the bishopric member, and the other elders. It worked out. I baptized the guy and confirmed him. It was my first time confirming someone and it was a cool experience.
Sunday morning I got a call from one of the bishop's in our stake, and complained about the sisters because I was the zone leader. He said I had to take care of it before he calls President Litchfield… great. That morning I did a baptismal interview which is always a fun experience, especially with Ivorians.
Today we went to the temple and it was an amazing experience. I'll write more about it next week because this week should be crazy.
Spiritual Thought:
I don't have a lot of time to write my email this week, so my invitation is to go to the temple. Most of you guys have the opportunity to go to the temple, and you probably should go more. After going through the open house, you don't realize what you were missing until you don't have it.
“Time in the temple will help you to think celestial and to catch a vision of who you really are, who you can become, and the kind of life you can have forever. Regular temple worship will enhance the way you see yourself and how you fit into God’s magnificent plan” (pres Nelson April 2024)
Thanks for your prayers, and I hope you have a wonderful week!
Elder Robinson
