Week 45

Monday call pic!

The mission president had the mission leaders over for some fun! Caleb and his companion are the little heads smack dab in the middle! I screen shot this picture off of Sister Litchfield’s post.

They had games for them to play.

Their place is nice!

They have a swimming pool! No missionaries are allowed to swim though.

Message from the Zone leaders.

Stormy every day.

Oscar, the guy who brought Caleb his package brought back for Caleb a tie for Bryan and a tie for Oscar and his other set of shoes he won’t need since he wears his sandals all of the time. So we snapped a picture of them both wearing the same tie. Just in time for Father’s Day!

A friend of mine sent this to me. She had seen it in the church news. It is so true.

Exchange with Elder Larsen. A member was so nice and gave them a pagne shirt!

More pagne ties!

This is just so cute. The kids see them and come running! The dance the little girl does after getting a high five is so cute! You can hear them saying, “le blanc, le blanc!” (The white, the white!) Warms my heart to see the joy they bring to those cute little kids.

First Mustang he has seen in awhile!

The Elders that had chicken pox and Caleb and his companion had done all these errands for them. They bought Caleb and his companion a pizza to thank them. Caleb said it was so good!

Caught in the rain again!

Caleb sent Bryan a message while we were in church to let him know when he would call for Father’s Day and he sent it in French ðŸĪŠ!

I’m so grateful for google translation!

He called during our second hour. So he talked to Bryan for a little bit then I peeked in because I can’t help it!

I wrapped the tie Caleb got him and had him open it on Father’s Day. ❤️

He wore it to church. Now we have pagne! It is so special to have something that came from his hands to ours. We sure miss him.

His email this week:

MLC, exchanges, and a lot of rain

Salut

This week was a good week. We had a lot of things, but nothing crazy or interesting. Last p-day we went to the Litchfield's house for MLC. It was so fun. We showed up in p-day attire and spent a couple hours talking about key indicators and things in the mission. We got pizza and cookies for lunch. They were so good. After we played games with them. It was a lot of fun.

Wednesday and Thursday we had exchanges. Wednesday was with Elder Larson. We taught a lady in their sector, but right before we left she said wait I have gifts for you guys. She then pulls out these pagne shirts and lets us choose one. I'll put a picture with the ones we chose, but they were free and are so cool. Thursday my exchange was with Elder Stucki. At the end of the day we went to a restaurant in our sector and got some shakes. They were so good.

My companion and I got really annoyed with the Ivorians this week. It has been raining a lot, and when it rains the Ivorians run away and hide in their homes. It's pretty annoying and here is an example. Saturday we went to the ward building for a young adult activity. They told us that everyone would bring two friends which is why we went. They also said it would start at 14h, but then it got changed to 14h30. We showed up at 14h30 and there was no one there. After 15 minutes, the member leading the activity showed up. He said it got changed to 15 because of the rain. After a bit a few people showed up and they said it got changed to 15h30.

At this point we were really upset, and there were still no friends. So we left even though it was a downpour. We went and taught a papa and his family. After we called the bishop to see if any friends had shown up to the activity. He said that a new member brought one friend. So we went hoping to get one new friend and one new member lesson.

When we showed up they were in a lesson so we waited. There were a decent number of people, but still only one friend. It was disappointing. Once they finished they fed us. Then we talked with the new member and her friend. They were tired and wouldn't let us teach her, which was unfortunate.

Sunday was Father's day. Because of the rain there were only 17 people at church when we started. A lot of people came, they were just late. In the evening we had a lesson with a friend. He is 26, but hasn’t been baptized yet because his mom is preventing it. It’s complicated, but she lets him come to church, she's just not okay with the baptism. So we sat the two of them down and were very honest with them. We were like Stephane, you know it's true and you want to be baptized. Mom, you cannot prevent him from being baptized and also your church is not true and doesn't have the authority to be baptized so neither of you guys have actually been baptized yet. It was rough, but Stephane said afterwards he was going to get baptized either way, so here's hoping.

Today we are going to the African Market in Cocody, so wish us luck because they are going to do everything to rip us off.

Spiritual Thought:

Alma 34:32: For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.

As we have been teaching friends this week I have kept thinking of this scripture, and the question “if Jesus Christ showed up today would you be ready?” We will never be perfect on this earth, but if we do everything we can, He will make up the rest.

Thanks for your prayers and I hope you guys all have a great week!

Elder Robinson
