Week 46

Monday call❤️!

Caleb and his companion got permission to go to a really cool African Market in Cocody on P day. You usually do that at the end of your mission and his companion has one more transfer to go. They had fun and got some cool souvenirs.

They really wanted these shirts but they were too expensive to justify. So they just snapped a picture.

These are African paintings.

This is what Caleb bought.

Expensive pagne that he didn’t buy,

I told him I wanted a picture of them in their elephant pants!

This kid was taking a nap on the floor with the cats❤️.

He took a picture of this pagne and made it his wallpaper on his phone.

One of the many places he went during the day!

Pres Litchfield talking about how the church is in 160+ countries! This map specifically shows how many members are in each area. The darker the color the more members.

More pagne ties!

Sister Litchfield’s mom drew this picture of the Abidjan temple❤️.

Caleb made my granola I make at home. The first time it burned because he cooked it on the stove and it’s so hard to figure out the heat levels. Second round was better.

Random blue water.

His sandals got snagged on something. What a blessing that Oscar was able to deliver him a second pair in his birthday package! He is going to try and sew them because they still work though.

His email this week:

African Market and Zone Conference

Salut

This week was another crazy week. Last Monday we got permission from President to go to the African Market. It is called Centre Artisanal de la Ville d'Abidjan. It is an amazing place. They sell paintings, jewelry, bracelets, pagne and pagne clothes, wood trinkets, and a ton of other things. It's kind of hard to explain but I'll throw some photos en bas là. If you come here, which is probably never, you have to go there.

Tuesday was actually an unfortunate day. We found out one friend doesn't feel worthy to be baptized, our baptism candidate's mom would be out of town Saturday, the other baptism candidate's dad didn't give us the green light for her baptism, and a lady we're teaching’s husband doesn’t like the church. Ça va aller.

Thursday we had zone conference. It was our last zone conference with President and Sister Litchfield. Because our comp unity is so high we put on matching outfits. It was funny but unfortunately we forgot to get a picture. Everyone was on time which is awesome especially because we have a ton of sisters in our zone.

Me and Elder Stevens did our key indicators presentation. It went well. President and Sister Litchfield talked about tribes and how we are all the tribe of God. They shared the talk from President Nelson saying how we are first a child of God, second a child of the covenant, and then a disciple of Jesus Christ. After they explained in detail priesthood keys and exactly who has what. They started from Peter, James, John, John the Baptist, Moses, Elias, and Elijah. Then they explain who has what priesthood keys today. It was really cool.

Friday night four elders that are going home in a week decided to pull up to our apartment to stay the night. I don't know why but needless to say we got very little sleep. Saturday we put two people on date which was awesome.

This week it rained a lot which helped us find several new friends. Ivorians will hide when it rains so almost everyone is at their house, in a taxi, or hiding under something on the side of the road.

Today we have a mission activity, Wednesday President and Sister Vore will show up and run the mission, and Saturday we will learn about transfers.

Spiritual Thought:

D&C 88:63: Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

If you ever need anything just turn to him and all will be okay.

Thanks for your prayers and I hope you guys all have a great week!
