Week 48 New area Base Cie 2 with Elder Bimai

Monday call pic!

This just looks painful and sticky! You’ll do anything as a zone leader to motivate other missionaries.

Last tour of his apartment he was leaving. He packed up and left Tuesday.

Christmas decorations in the store in July?

Lemon Fanta!

He got transferred to Base Cie 2 and his new companion is Elder Bimai from Cameroon. Exactly what he was hoping for. Elder Bimai speaks really good French and a little English. This area is just north of his last area.

Caleb was able to call for Cambri’s birthday. That was a fun surprise! We were at the bowling alley and were just finishing up our last round so it was perfect timing. We ran to the car and talked to him there, it was way too loud in the bowling alley.

Quick tour of his new apartment.

His new area.

Eagles!

Caleb got a kick out of an elders calendar who had finished his mission and was headed home. The last day he put all sorts of funny things on his calendar being silly such as: set off fireworks, go to Boston, and other high risk activities…!

Caleb’s zone he is over.

Silly Elder! Caleb cropped the picture!

Bryan put this in AI and it says it is an ear wig 😳!

Salut

This week was a pretty crazy and fun week. Last Monday I got packed up which wasn't easy. Since I've started my mission I have collected more than I have used, so each time it gets harder. We also went out and I said goodbye to a couple people.

Tuesday morning we headed to the stake center for transfers. President Litchfield had planned out the transfer, but President Vore was the one running it. I finally met the Vore's in person. They are really cool people and I'm excited to get to know them better. We all sat down and then they read out the transfer news. My new sector is Base CIE 2 with Elder Bimai. He is from Cameroon and is still in training. He is a really cool guy and speaks very “choco”, another way of saying he speaks proper French. I am also staying as a zone leader.

Our sector is a decent sector. There are a lot of apartment buildings on the north half of our sector, and then a bunch of Ivorian houses on the bottom half of the sector. It's actually really close to my old sector which is nice.

Thursday we had MLC with the Vore's. It was really good. Me and Elder Ramamonjisoa went there while our fils did an exchange. The Vore's focused a lot on the joy of the gospel and however can find as many people as possible to listen to our message. In Preach My Gospel it talks about how we need to have multiple lines in the water, but we talk about how we can use nets to find a lot of people at once. It was really good. There were also some interesting key indicators that they presented. We got KFC for lunch which might have been the best part haha.

Friday we had district council. It was really good. We talked about the Holy Ghost and all of his many roles and things he does, with the scripture reference. It was a lot of fun.

Saturday we had weekly planning. We left the apartment at 14h as usual. By 15h15 we had four missed appointments. It sucked. So we contacted and ended up getting a lot of new friends so it all worked out. Sunday was a chill day. Our ward isn't that big, but there are some cool people.

Today we are going to play soccer and chill. This week should be chill, with a lot of exchanges.

Spiritual Thought:

This week I came across a small sentence that I really enjoyed. It is Alma 15:12, “And Alma baptized Zeezrom unto the Lord.” Alma didn't baptize Zeezrom because he wanted another person at church, or because he had finished all of the missionary lessons. Zeezrom didn't get baptized to please Alma or because he knew he had to and that was it. Zeezrom had a testimony and wanted to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, and Alma was a worthy priesthood holder who was able to perform the baptism.

We are all baptized and members of his church, but is it to please someone, or is it because we love the Lord and want to be his disciple?

Thanks for your prayers and I hope you guys have a wonderful week!
