Week 49

Monday call pic!

This is so cool. Caleb highlighted this scripture to look like the American flag, very creative. I love it! In French and in English!

Caleb’s zone he is over.

Caleb’s area.

PSG vs Real Madrid he got to see like 20 minutes of the game, while a sweet member fed them.

Doing exchanges with Elder Kartchner.

This guy was drunk and during their lesson with someone he came in wearing a darth vader mask making weird noises. Caleb was cool enough to sneak a picture of him. Luckily eventually he took it off and was quiet.

Caleb’s food.

This spider was on their ceiling Caleb got the broom and killed it with the stick. Creepy!๐Ÿ˜ณ

Nutella treats ๐Ÿ˜‹ but they’re expensive.

We went to the 5,000 broadcast of music and the spoken word it was so cool. But when we were sitting there before it started I looked over and in the next section over I saw a missionary tag that was Cรดte d’Ivoire ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฎ ! I jumped up and ran over to her I was so excited! Christa followed me. She is totally from Abidjan right by where the new temple is in Cocody. I instantly loved her!

After the performance we saw her again at the same time we saw our sweet friends Oscar and Angelica. Oscar was the one that took the package to Caleb for me.

Sweet Angelica took a picture of us all together. We had so much fun talking to Sister Oro and her companion. Her companion is from Costa Rica. Sister Oro really misses her country and food she said she could switch Caleb!

She was sweet enough to record a video for Caleb for me to send him.

Caleb’s email from this week:

faut laisser ton nez ici

Salut

This week was a chill week so this might be a shorter email. Last P-Day we didn't do much except for we played soccer at the stake center. Tuesday we had district council and then a normal day out in sector. Wednesday morning we went searching for some gray dots. It was very effective, but it wasn't successful. In the evening we visited a family. After the lesson they gave us chicken with attieke and then turned on the PSG vs Real Madrid game. It was awesome.

Thursday I did an exchange with Elder Kartchner. Elder Kartchner just left the office and finishes his mission this transfer. It wasn't the most hard working exchange we’ve had, but we had three of some of the most spirit filled lessons I've had on the mission. In one particular lesson we were teaching a nouchi bro, and an eternal friend was “helping” us teach him. We were teaching about faith, repentance, and the Book of Mormon. The Spirit was so strong and you could tell it was working on the friend. Also forget the fact that eternal friend was drunk and put on a Darth Vader mask and started making weird noises during the lesson... After the day was over and we were back at the apartment, this nouchi bro called us and was like I read the Book of Mormon, and I do some bad things. We were so surprised and excited because that never happens. Hopefully he progresses and the other elders can baptize him.

Saturday we had a productive day. We were teaching this one lady, but as we go to leave her neighbor calls for me. She says « Le blanc, avant de partir, faut laisser ton nez ici. » Basically she told me I needed to leave my nose with her… This country is so crazy.

Sunday we had ward conference. It was awesome. There were so many people that showed up. During the week I had threatened some inactive members and friends that if they didn't come to church they would be liars. It worked incredibly well because everyone of them pulled up and made sure that I knew they weren't liars.

This week will hopefully be chill, with a lot of exchanges.

Spiritual Thought:

I was reading the Book of Mormon in French when I came across this scripture and I noticed something I never noticed before. It's Jacob 3:2 which says, “O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever.”

I love the part where it says “feast upon his love.” It got me thinking about how much our Heavenly Father loves us. He has always loved us and will continue to love us with a perfect love. Sometimes people will say that they don't feel God's love. The thing is God always loves us and his love is always pouring out. Unfortunately as we sin, we separate ourselves from Him and it makes it harder to feel his love. If we repent and turn to him we will be able to “feast upon his love.”

Thanks for your prayers and I hope you guys have a wonderful week!
