Week 57 Sep 1-7th 2025
Caleb was told that rest is super important when you have malaria so he rested Monday. But Tuesday he had to get up at 5:45 to go travel to get his companion's patriarchal blessing.
Wow so crazy the MTC was 400 days ago!
When you have malaria you get pains in your stomach as one of the symptoms and don't have an appetite so I was happy to see a picture of food.
Picture from a rooftop he was on. He again made the picture look so cool.
Exchange with Elder Walker. He has a lot of fun with him. You can see Caleb is feeling much better.
They had an eating appointment on a rooftop.
The sweet lady made them alloco.
😳 Oh my!
You can tell they have fun together.
He is doing awesome with his Duolingo!
His email:
Salut
This week was a normal week, with a couple of weird days sprinkled in. Last P-Day I still wasn't feeling good so we took it easy and stayed at the apartment. Tuesday I didn't feel great either, but we got up at 5h45 so we could go and get my companion's patriarchal blessing. I wasn't in the room, but it was still cool to be there and support him.
That night, by the bakery, a young man tried to steal someone's phone. We didn't see it but we did see the group of 100 people surrounding him wanting to watch while he was knocked out on the floor. What's funny is the people that beat the thieves, are also thieves.
Wednesday we had a lot of appointments. We literally just went from appointment to appointment until the end of the day. In the morning we had a lesson with a lady that comes from a church where it's all spiritual. She also believes that all you have to do is believe in Christ, and then you no longer have sins. So she believed she was sinless. We wanted to ask what would happen if she went and committed adultery right then, if she would think if she is still sinless, but we chose not to. Longer story short, she's a gray dot.
Thursday and Friday were kind of weird. Me and Elder Bimaï have talked about it, but we don't know why they were weird. We just kind of had a weird feeling those two days, but still had some Spirit filled lessons. But I dunno.
Saturday I had an exchange with Elder Walker. As usual it was a lot of fun. We had an awesome companionship study, and then a great time in sector. We had one lesson with a young man, and I had got told he was stumped on why God let the fall of Adam and Eve happen. I guess the other missionaries tried to explain but he didn't understand. I just prayed and then we read 2 Nephi 2:19-27. I then went back and explained one scripture at a time. With the help of the Spirit he understood, and thanked us for the explanation.
We had a mangez vous on the top of a roof. It was alloco and was really good. It took a while for the lady to make, but it was worth the wait. On the way back to the apartment, mind you it's pitch black, this creepy drunk guy started following us. It took a second for us to notice that he was following us. We started walking faster but he kept up with us. Even running trying to keep up. I said a small prayer and then felt inspired to ask a certain guy sitting on the road. We went over and asked him for some help. We calmly walked with us over to his house where there was a hallway with a door. He let us in and then locked the door behind us. We left on the other side of the hallway which led us back to the apartment. It was awesome.
Sunday went well. We had a lot of friends show up which was nice. After we had a lot of appointments, but everyone was either not there or sleeping. It was kind of unfortunate and led to a not so efficace Sunday.
Today we are going to play some soccer, and this week should be interesting with some election things.
Spiritual Thought:
1 Nephi 4:6 “And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.”
2 Nephi 32:5 “For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.”
D&C 8:2 “Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.”
The Holy Ghost is a wonderful gift from God. This week I noticed how important it is to have the Spirit. It will help you bring people to Christ, feel closer to Christ, and help you run away from crazy drunk people haha. Do anything possible to be worthy of the Holy Ghost because he will bless your life, guide, and protect you.
Thanks for your prayers and I hope you guys have a wonderful week!
