Week 63 Oct 13th-19th 2025

 Monday call!

This is hilarious! He got it from another missionary.

Pres Vore doesn't normally call so when you see his name come up you know it is important! He called to tell Caleb that they were sending another missionary to his apartment and he would be Elder Basombela's companion and then Caleb and Elder Nelson would be a companionship instead of them being a trio. Caleb was stoked the trio was a little rough trying to juggle two areas and Elder Basombela has a hard personality.

Missionary Leadership Council.

Yum!

Cool Pagne he saw.

They went to go see if the font got filled up for a baptism and they found a box of missionary pamphlets in it. He doesn't know how it got there but they had to spend a lot of time cleaning it up.

Elder Nelson and Caleb now a companionship.

I can't remember what animal this is.

Soccer game!

This kids name is Christ. So Caleb can say he got to baptize Christ! He asked him to baptize him.

Zone conference.

His email:

incoming call...

Salut

This week was pretty crazy, but it was awesome at the same time. Last p-day I was able to call my family while they were at my great-grandma’s funeral which was awesome. In the evening we had an appointment with this one friend that wasn’t smooth. During the lesson this friend’s friend joined and the lesson became a little rough.

Tuesday morning as I was studying I got an incoming phone call from President Vore. I was a little nervous because that was the first time he has ever called, but it was just to tell us that we would no longer be in a trio. Another Elder was coming to work with Elder Basombela. In the afternoon we visited the Base CIE 1 bishop who gave us a lot of information about the elections. In the evening we learned about the new prophet and first presidency. I expected everything except for Elder Christoffersen as the second counselor. I’m excited for them and know that they are called of God.

Wednesday we had zone conference. I conducted, and it went better than I thought. One thing that stood out to me was how we need to be aggressive about our friends not coming to church. In the sense of if we contact them and they don’t come to church, don’t waste our time and go find someone else that will come to church. That night we had 4 elders that came over and slept at our apartment, including Elder Basombela’s new companion. It was tight, but it was a lot of fun as well.

Thursday was a chill day. Elder Mwamba had to participate in zone conference, and so he went with the other elders. In the afternoon we went back to pick him up. Friday we had weekly planning. We went to the stake center to fill up the baptismal font. The pagne guy from Dabou was there, and so we picked up some pagne that me and Elder Nelson had ordered. The baptismal font was kind of a disaster. When we showed up, the font was halfway filled up with a cardboard box and a ton of brochures inside. Then we went to drain it, and it only drained a little bit before it stopped. Me, Elder Nelson, and a sister from Lokoa took out all of the brochures, hand drained the font with buckets, cleaned the font, waited for the water to drain, and then filled it up. It was really annoying and took a lot of time.

Saturday morning we had the baptism for Christ. It was like a collective baptism because there were a couple wards there. I had the opportunity to baptize Christ. It was a cool experience as always.

Sunday was another great day. In the morning we went to church. I blessed the sacrament for the first time on my mission. It was our ward's primary program. It was so fun because even though they never go perfectly, the Spirit is so strong. Christ didn’t come to the first hour of church because he was late, so it made things a little tricky, but we were still able to confirm him. In the evening we had a fireside for missionary work in our stake. As usual it was good, but maybe not the best use of our time.

This week should be a chill week, unless something happens with the elections…

Spiritual Thought:

Elder Uchtdorf: “God gives us gifts—of knowledge, of ability, of opportunity—and He wants us to use and amplify them so they can bless us and bless His other children. That doesn’t happen if we put those gifts high on a shelf like a trophy that we admire from time to time. Our gifts magnify and multiply only when we put them to use.”

Thanks for your prayers, and I hope you guys have a great week!
