Week 71 Dec 8-14th
They had a mission wide activity on Monday. Caleb had to get tables and stuff all set up for it.
They played ultimate frisbee. If you look right in the middle it is Pres Vore playing with them!
They all sang a song for everyone. I believe they did it by district. Caleb is on the left.
They had yummy food to eat!
Caleb was sweating so bad! He had just came in from playing ultimate frisbee!
The second they brought out bananas they all ran to get some!
Caleb had to help get all the missionaries out and clean up and so he called us as they were about to leave.
It was so fun he took us along for the ride! I filmed a ton of it. It is so fascinating to me. I love seeing a little of what he sees every day.
Ble came and met up with Caleb again before he left. Caleb sent stuff home with him to give to us. He didn't tell us what it was though.
He went to the China Mall and Abidjan Mall with the office elders. It is in Cocody which is by the office elders apartment. It looks nice!
His email for the week:
Time goes by so quickly...
Salut tout le monde
Sorry last week I wasn’t able to get an email out. The last two weeks have been pretty crazy. Two p-day’s ago we went to the zoo. That was a lot of fun. Just before, an Ivorian that lives back in my ward in Utah came to Cote d'Ivoire, and met up with us to give me a package from my parents.
Tuesday we had district meeting and then were at the office. On Wednesday Elder Mondongue and I went with some other missionaries to get our visas renewed because we were legally living in the country… After we went to our apartment, a handyman fixed my bed that broke last week.
Thursday we did an exchange with the Abobodoumé elders. It was a lot of fun. We had a goal to find 12 people that day, even with five appointments we already had lined up. It was hard, and it took until the last second, but we found 12 new people that day. We also got some sweet pagne which topped it off.
Friday was a weird day. Saturday was a busy day. We had one lesson that I really enjoyed. We taught a friend with about 6 primary kids who are all members. We taught them about the 10 commandments. It was fun seeing them listen, participate, read the scriptures, and more with the friend.
Sunday we had church. After some elders came and slept over at our apartment. We had a good time and made some burgers that were surprisingly good. Monday we had a mission activity. It was our mission’s Christmas activity. In the morning we had breakfast and a spiritual program. After everyone changed into p-day clothes and we played some games. There was soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, basketball, and more.
Tuesday we had MLC. I feel like it went pretty well. We spent a while talking about how we can help inspire the other missionaries that we lead. After we spent some time doing stuff at the office. Wednesday we had district council, and then a great day in sector.
Thursday we did exchanges. I was with Elder Rakotomanana in our sector. We didn’t have a lot of appointments, which gave us a lot of time to contact. We ended up finding 14 friends, which was awesome. Friday we were at the office doing things. We went with the office elders to China Mall and Abidjan Mall which are two very nice stores where you can get almost anything. It almost felt like we got teleported to the US or Europe for a bit.
Saturday was a great day. In the evening we sent out transfer news to all of the zone leaders and stl’s. Sunday we had a good time at church. We spent a little bit of time in sector and then left for Cocody.
This week will be a long week because it is transfers. We are praying that something happens, but maybe you guys will find out next week.
Spiritual Thought:
John 9:25 “He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”
I really enjoy this story, how Jesus heals this guy and the Pharisees don't believe that Jesus could have performed a miracle. But what I love even more is the principle behind this guy's response. He knew what he knew, and no one can change that. We hopefully all have a testimony, but what is important is that we remember that what we know, we know, and no one can change it.
Merci pour vos prières, et j'espère que vous passerez une excellente semaine !
