Pierre est mort ? » ... « oui... mal même
("Is Pierre dead?" ... "Yes... very badly.")
Salut
This week was pretty chill, so this might be a smaller email.
Last week on p-day we didn’t do much. We headed to the office with the office elders to do some things. Tuesday we had an interesting district council and then did stuff at the office with the Vore’s.
Wednesday and Thursday we did exchanges. The first one was with Elder Maruhi from Tahiti. We had a successful day and had a lot of fun. The second exchange was with Elder Kambamura from Zimbabwe. We also had a successful day and spent a lot of time talking about life.
Friday and Saturday Elder Rako and I were in sector. We had a lot of appointments and follow ups we had to do, but they went well. My favorite part was during this one lesson when the friend was shocked when Peter in the New Testament died. In my head I was like, well yeah he lived a long time ago. Though when he asked if he died my companion responded with “oui, mal meme!” (“Yes, even badly!”)
Sunday was interesting. We spent a while dealing with friends at church. In the afternoon we did weekly planning. In the evening we had a family home evening, and then rushed back to get ready for a mission call. During the mission call the Vore’s talked a lot about competencies and obedience, and then asked us to talk about some rules. Then they told the mission some things that no one, even us, were expecting. It was crazy.
This week should be the last chill week of the transfer, so we’ll see what we’ll do.
Spiritual Thought:
The Eternal Gift of Testimony by Elder Brown
“Brothers and sisters, a testimony is not given for temporary use. This gift from our loving Heavenly Father is meant to be eternal because the giver is eternal. A testimony should not have an expiration date. It should not weaken or diminish because something in my life has changed or something in the world has changed. It should get stronger because, like the servant’s talents in the parable of the talents, my personal testimony is a gift to be multiplied—not buried.”
I could have copied and pasted his whole talk, but I grabbed one part that I like a lot. I hope all of us have a testimony, whether big or small. We need to be grateful that we have it, and then do the small and simple things to help it grow, before we lose it.
Thanks for your prayers and I hope you guys have a great week!
Elder Robinson
