Week 16
6:30am talking to this cute elder!
Cambri made him this hanging decoration he can change out for each holiday. Happy Thanksgiving buddy!
This is the worst he has seen the garbage along the road.
Egg on a baguette his go to meal!
Looking at a possible place to meet for church. But the Branch president doesn’t like it so they’ll keep looking.
Frere Sebastian such a great member who teaches with them often.
Caleb’s district, hi Elder Christensen!
Not many pictures this week but he is doing great!
His email this week:
Allo!
This week was a solid week, but not a lot of action. Last Monday we had our online zone conference. It was really good, minus the fact we couldn't hear anything. The audio was so bad that we couldn't hear what they were saying. Yakoo pour nous. Our President sent us some notes though so we did get something out of it.
This week we taught the Nigerian lady. It was weird being the person with the language advantage. My companion speaks some English so we were still able to teach together. It was weird speaking English though, especially in a lesson.
This week we went and looked at a potential building option for N'Douci. We went with Frere Sebastian, who is the goat. It looked good, but as soon as we talked about it with our Branch President he shut it down because it was too far. I guess he has said no to a lot of buildings because they weren't perfect. The problem is he doesn't really have the authority to say no. The mission president sends the recommendation to the temporal affairs team in Accra, Ghana, and then they make the decision. They also told us to meet in a school, but we haven't done that yet. It's kind of a mess, mais ça va aller.
This week we had interviews with our mission president. We did them online because we are so far away from Abidjan. It went really well, and it is always fun to talk to him.
Other than that this week was pretty chill. We are still teaching a lot, but we made some time to go contacting. We have transfers in just over a week, which is crazy. The time here doesn't make sense. It's flying by, which I'm okay with. This week is also Thanksgiving, so I'm going to try to splurge on some stuff, but I don't know what yet.
Spiritual thought:
This week I gave a talk on the things that have to happen before the second coming. Here are some of the things: war, turmoil, diseases, Elijah the prophet, spreading the gospel throughout the world, the Book of Mormon, and the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. All of these things have already happened and continue to happen. Like President Nelson said Jesus Christ is coming again. But when he comes, how will he find us? Will we be keeping our covenants, or will we be enjoying the things of this world? Alma 34:32 says today is the time for us to prepare to meet God and D&C 38:30 says if ye are prepared ye shall not fear. As we constantly try to become like Jesus and constantly improve ourselves, we can be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Merci pour vos prières et j'espère que vous passerez une merveilleuse semaine!
Elder Robinson
